When a reluctant Jyotsna, an artiste with her assistant Ragini arrive in Calapor Central jail to conduct an art program for prison inmates ,initiated by a very sincere and committed reformist Jail Superintendent, Karunakar , the agonizing past of criminal husband who cheated her and a delinquent Son who ran away ,returns to torment her. With adversity comes an opportunity ; a second chance that Jyotsna as a mother cannot afford to lose or fail to succeed. "Calapor" is a modern story of reformation .The film provokes thought about the nature of human being while infusing hope that there is good in every human being .
There is a treasure in the heart of every human being .It only need to be discovered by will. "CALAPOR", deals with the reformation of prisoners in jail and is expressed through the tale of a mother struggling to forget her dreaded past in hope of good future for her son who has taken the wrong path .Any mother would be able easily identify with her emotion . Though concept of jail reform has been dealt with in earlier film ,this is refreshing with new ideas and sensitive treatment .
